Once again, a leaked picture from the sets of Ramayana is doing rounds on the internet. This time, the pictures appeared to show actors Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Lord Ram and Sita in the upcoming epic. The image gave a clear view of the two decked up in opulent royal attire inspired by the mythological characters. Many wondered if these pictures are real or AI generated. Television actor Ashish Sharma, who once portrayed Lord Rama in Siya Ke Ram, has confirmed they are fake.
Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana looks go viral
On Saturday, several social media users began circulating the pictures, which shows Ranbir with folded hands, wearing a crown and jewellery, while Sai Pallavi, dressed in a royal headgear and jewellery, gazing at him. Many claimed that the visuals were from the Ram-Sita wedding sequence in the film. One post widely claimed, “Leak Pictures of Ranbir and Sai Pallavi from Ramayana (sic).”
However, many users on social media doubted the authenticity of the images, due to their clear visibility. “Leaked pictures can’t be this clear,” one wrote. Another argued, “Ram-Sita wedding must be in Part One, which wrapped filming last year. How are these appearing now?.” Others even asked Grok, X’s AI chatbot to confirm whether the image had been curated using artificial intelligence. “It’s a face-swapped edit from the old TV serial Siya Ke Ram, not real leaked set photos from the upcoming film. Actual leaks show Ranbir in simpler dhoti/wig attire,” Grok responded.
What is the actual truth behind the viral Ramayana pictures?
Amidst this, television actor Ashish Sharma shared one leaked image and busted the rumours. Ashish, who portrayed Lord Rama on the 2015-16 Star Plus show Siya Ke Ram, eventually addressed that the image was actually the edited version of a still from his show.
“Here you go. One more ‘Original’ leaked image. AI couldn’t replace my hair,” he quipped while sharing the original pic from the sequence, confirming that image had been digitally altered.
Siya Ke Ram, which telecasted on Star Plus, featured Madirakshi Mundle as Sita, Karan Suchak as Lakshman, Karthik Jayaram as Ravana, and Danish Akhtar Saifi as Lord Hanuman, along with Ashish Sharma as Rama.
