After the massive success of Off Campus, Prime Video has announced another romance novel adaptation, ‘The Love Hypothesis’. The movie is based on Ali Hazelwood’s novel of the same name and follows the trope of a fake relationship, also shown in Off Campus.

While speaking to Cosmopolitan, Tom Bateman talked about his experience working with Lili Reinhart. He said, “One of the most enjoyable parts of making this film was how well Lili and I got on and how that informed our on-camera chemistry. We really cared about these brilliant and beloved characters, and we bonded in our shared dream of making sure the relationship between the two of them feels organic and authentic.”
“I had the best time with Tom. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in all of this. He is the complete opposite of Adam in real life, so seeing him tap into this darker version of himself was very fun to watch,” Lili added.
What is the plot of The Love Hypothesis?
The story follows Olive, a brilliant PhD candidate focused on her future in academia. Things take a turn in her personal life when she realises her best friend Ahn has fallen for her crush, Jeremy. She impulsively kisses intimidating professor Adam Carlsen to prove she’s moved on. The situation turns more complicated when Olive and Adam begin a fake relationship with rules, boundaries, and a mutually beneficial agreement.
Olive is forced to test her most daunting hypothesis yet: that love might actually be worth the risk when their arrangement begins to blur the lines between performance and reality.
