Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming film Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam is set to mark its trailer launch with an event unlike the usual film promotions. The trailer will be unveiled on September 29 at Mumbai’s iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expected to be present at the launch.
The choice of venue holds particular significance for the film, as CSMT was among the locations targeted during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, an event that is closely connected to the story of veteran public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. Nikam served as the special public prosecutor in the 26/11 case and led the prosecution in the trial of terrorist Ajmal Kasab.
In Prahaar, Rajkummar Rao takes on the role of Ujjwal Nikam. The actor’s first look had already generated interest around his transformation and portrayal, with the upcoming trailer expected to offer audiences a closer glimpse into his character and the film’s courtroom-driven narrative.
Taking the trailer launch to CSMT adds another layer of relevance to the event, with the makers bringing the film’s story to a real location that remains intrinsically linked to the events depicted in the film. The launch is being positioned as a distinctive and first-of-its-kind trailer unveiling for a Hindi film.
Directed by Avinash Arun and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher and Tarun Sharma. The film is slated to release in cinemas on October 16, 2026.
