According to Sacnilk, Peddi collected Rs 51 crore on day 1. This is an excellent opening and surpasses several other releases. The movie was released in over 12000 screens and has earned Rs 69.50 crore in total in India. Most of its earnings come from the Telugu belt, where it collected Rs 47.20 crore.

Apart from Ram Charan, the movie also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani.
While speaking to Bhaskar English, Ram Charan talked about his character and how approached the story. He said, “I think I have worked most sincerely in this film compared to my other films. I have worked with great respect, because it required sincerity. This film represents 1.8 billion people. This film is about identity. The character of Peddi is in search of identity, for himself and his community.”
“In a country like India, if you are not on the map, many villages where people live, they cannot vote, they don’t have transport, schools, postal boxes, or services. They are just living there. There are many such villages. This is the story of a boy who comes out of such a village and how he creates an identity for himself,” he added.

The plot follows a determined young, who man rises through fierce sporting contests, confronting rivalry, pride and the weight of expectation.
