Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and featuring Janhvi Kapoor, the film has marked solid growth throughout its opening weekend, even amid massive debate surrounding the depiction of its female lead. Peddi registered a noticeable upward trend in its day 4 earnings and is set to hit the Rs 200 crore mark in India.

According to the trade-tracking portal Sacnilk, Peddi collected an estimated Rs 31.90 crore in India on day 4, a 10.6 per cent increase compared to day 3's Rs 28.85 crore. This pushed its domestic net total to Rs 157.15 crore, and the overall India gross has now reached Rs 187.02 crore. The film raked in Rs 18 crore from paid previews before collecting a staggering Rs 51 crore on its opening day across 12,412 shows.
Peddi is also performing well internationally. As a result, the film's worldwide gross collection has reached an impressive Rs 233.02 crore.

The film has been facing extreme backlash over its portrayal of women and the hypersexualisation of its female lead. Addressing the controversy, director Buchi Babu Sana released a statement on X and wrote, "As a filmmaker, I believe cinema should entertain, inspire, and connect with audiences. It should never make anyone feel uncomfortable or disrespected."
He apologised to viewers who felt uncomfortable watching certain scenes of the film. "If any part of the film has been perceived that way, we respect those sentiments, understand the concerns being raised, and sincerely apologise," he added.
