A recent addition to the list is Singh's father-in-law and Deepika Padukone's father, Prakash Padukone. Upon watching Aditya Dhar's directorial, the former sports star praised Ranveer's acting as well as the star cast. However, Padukone also had a criticism and said that the film had "too much violence."

In an interview with The Indian Express, Prakash said that Ranveer's movie is well-articulated and that every actor has done their best. However, Padukone admitted that, "We felt there was a little bit too much violence, but the majority of people liked it, so I think that's more important."

In the same interview, Prakash also shared what his bond with Ranveer is like. The badminton legend revealed that he and Singh spend a lot of time together. Ranveer and Deepika's families are close to each other and often go on vacations together. Padukone revealed that he keeps asking several questions about movies to Ranveer as he wants to learn more about the business.
"We don't get so much time, as they are all busy, but whatever time we get, we like to sit together and enjoy whether it's football or cricket. He is an Arsenal fan, and our daughter Anisha is a Manchester United fan, so there are these common interests," he told the publication.

Dhurandhar was released on December 5, 2025. The movie turned out to be a huge hit, a blockbuster that changed the point of view of the industry. Ranveer Singh led the movie as Hamza Ali Mazari. The movie minted over Rs 1300 crore. Soon after the release of the first part, Dhar announced that the film would return with a second part. Later, on March 19, the second part of the film was released. As expected, Dhurandhar 2 also turned out to be a huge success and became even bigger than the first part. This time, Dhurandhar 2 minted over Rs 1700 crore and registered itself as one of the highest-grossing films of 2026.
